feng shui w/ rich medina

My homie bryant hit me and asked if i could go with him to help move a few records. i shoulda known when he asked for help, it couldn’t have been just a “few”. I also didnt know it was rich medina’s crib, or really what he was about. We were literally knee deep in history. There where records everywhere! It was over fn whelming, Stacks blocking the hallways, up to the windows, homie even had records in his bathroom, in the tub, on the sink, on the damn toilet!

Fela, OG EPMD sht, Brass band joints. I even found this Whodini “Haunted house of Rock” record. This record was the first record ive ever owned. My Mom let me “borrow” it in pre-school and I took it to a halloween show-n-tell(i remember the vinyl being lime green tho). but Og was really cool, dropped jewels n cracked jokes like me and my friends. After the records were out the way and the wrinkles where stomped out of the rug like 3hrs later, we had a scooby stack of burgers on the patio. i was sore for 4 days…

“On to Something” is a documentary about this maverick musician, composer, inventor, and electronic music pioneer that will help raise awareness of this under-appreciated visionary. Scott was the Andy Warhol and Frank Zappa of the early 20th century. He was before his time in his music and his thinking. Scott’s crowning invention, The Electronium, which he described as ”an instantaneous composition and performance machine,” was bought by Berry Gordy for Motown Records. Scott worked for Motown for several years as their Director of Electronic Music Research and Development. Legendary producer J. Dilla sampled and expertly chopped “Lightworks” off Scott’s Manhattan Research Album.

It used to come on PBS when i was a kid. I was amazed to find this on youtube. years before i even knew what synesthesia was or how to pronounce it this is what i saw…sorta.

the canvas is above my forehead, the center of my eye, bottom of my left/right jaw. two feet from either shoulder. The instruments draw themselves and are 3 dimensional with there own properties that are spatial aware according to there notation, reverb, pitch and mood etc. they have colors, light, mass and displace other instruments when layered. The sound never loses its characteristics. and i found it would help in trying to remember what a song or pass looked like. but when creating with different instruments its more of a full body thing.

Inventor Woody Norris holds 44 patents in the US. The 44th is a called “Hypersonic Sound.” Instead of the standard linear it uses nonlinear sound which focuses sound like a laser and allows the user to aim any sound right next to your ear. Norris didnt graduate from college and said this about the over educated. “They get so smart there to good to look at things they know better than”.
One of his invetions sold for $1.5 cash. he also invented the cell headphone(the one that makes it look like ppl are crazy-talking to themselves) for $7 million. which the buyers then sold for $80 mill. hopefully concerts venues will buy into this, as the sound quality and volume would be the same in the front row as in the nose bleeds. no more ringing ears after concerts. it can also transmit data underwater undetected, on some james bond ish and send painful, ear drum shattering noises at 155 db to enemy troops a half a mile away. pain is 120db

Michel Gondry is an inspiration. Simply because he executes wild child like ideas with science to make his imaginings reality. If u dont know who he is buy or at least rent(no buy!) The Palm Series. Above is an excerpt from the “Mirror ball” series with him explaining the process for the Daft Punk Video for “around the world”.. He’s french and has an annoying accent so bear with it. its good stuff tho.

OH LAWD… Billy Cobham’s - “Heather” from his Crosswinds album. Play this in the morning and you will feel like a champion. Sampled by Souls of Mischief “93 Til Infinity”. Submarines “Breakfast Sampler” coming soon. I would use exclamation points but people that are extra hype in the morning erk me…

This is an unreleased spot MTV did w/ Pharrell for his “In My Mind” LP. With cameos from Snoop, Lupe and Stacy Dash as a young, like 50 times badder Barbara Walters. P talks about his first steps in the music biz, influences and smashin chicks at his parents crib… when he already had two houses. (idk wat thats about)

Like im not even in this btch, not even in the camera shy section. Look at the pic…thats a sticker! The lady said id have a better chance of winning the lottery and laughed in my face…a belly laugh. But its a lesson learned, ill tell my son not to break up w/ the head of the yearbook committee until the sht comes out.
